Update: Evacuate now Billinudgel and The Pocket

‘You must evacuate now because forecasted heavy rainfall will close evacuation routes. Cyclonic wind gusts may cause roads to be blocked and power outages may occur,’ said the SES.

‘You should evacuate to stay with family, friends, or alternate accommodation in areas unaffected by flooding.’

If you are unable to find accommodation go the the evacuation centre that has been set up at Ocean Shores Country Club, Country Club, 113A Orana Rd, Ocean Shores NSW.

The SES has issued and emergency warning directing people in low lying areas in Billinudgel, along Marshalls Creek and in the Pocket to evacuate before 9pm tonight. 

‘You must evacuate before this time because forecasted heavy rain fall will close evacuation routes. You should evacuate to stay with family, friends, or alternate accommodation in areas unaffected by flooding,’ said the SES.

Where to go?

If you are unable to find accommodation an evacuation centre has been set up at Ocean Shores Country Club, Country Club, 113A Orana Rd, Ocean Shores NSW.

‘If you remain in the area, you may become trapped without power, water, and other essential services. It may be too dangerous for NSW SES to rescue you, and buildings may not be able to withstand the impact of flood water,’ said the SES.
