Two men have died after a single-vehicle crash near Casino overnight.
About 10pm yesterday (Wednesday, 26 March, 2025), emergency services were called to Droneys Bridge Road, Fairy Hill, following reports of a single-vehicle crash.
Officers attached to Richmond Police District attended and found a vehicle submerged in the Richmond River.
Following initial inquiries, police believe the vehicle was travelling along Droneys Bridge Road, before leaving the roadway.
A 22-year-old female occupant of the vehicle was able to self-extricate. She was uninjured.
With assistance from Police Rescue and NSW SES crews, the vehicle was retrieved from the water.
The bodies of two men, believed to be aged in their 20s, were located inside the vehicle.
They are yet to be formally identified.
Police have established a crime scene and commenced inquiries into the circumstances surrounding the crash.
A report will be prepared for the information of the Coroner.
Road closures are in place and motorists are advised to avoid the area.
