Greens candidate Mandy Nolan will officially launch her campaign on Friday, March 21 at the Bangalow A&I Hall with a heady mix of hell-raising, humour, and hope.
The launch will feature inspiration from Greens party leader Adam Bandt, the high-profile NSW Greens MP Sue Higginson and globally respected human rights advocate Brett Solomon.
Also on the bill is Aboriginal All Stars comedian and Block TV super star Andy Saunders, who has played to live and TV audiences across Australia and internationally, with sold out shows in Edinburgh and London.
The night will see the re-appearance of ‘Katrina and the Greenies’, a local but internationally acclaimed piano, sax, and drum, rock-jazz trio, who will help raise the roof.
MC for the launch is Madeleine West, the actor, environmentalist and soon to be mum of 7, who has played roles in TV shows from Neighbours to Underbelly, and is also an author of children’s books.
Headlining is the candidate herself, Mandy Nolan, who only needs a 1.8 per cent swing to win the seat of Richmond, which has been held by the same MP for 20 years.
‘We are a diverse creative out-of-the box community who care deeply about the future of our planet,’ says Nolan. ‘If I get Canberra, we all do. My door will always be open. I am community led and community fed – that’s why I’m a bit chubbs.’
The historic event runs from 7pm at the Bangalow A&I Hall, which is fully wheelchair accessible. Tickets are available here and are $25, which is tax deductible, and it’s an all-ages gig.
