The NSW SES is directing people in parts of South Murwillumbah to EVACUATE BEFORE 9pm.
These areas are:
- Murwillumbah Industrial and surrounds
- River Street and surrounds through to Tweed Valley Way
- Low lying areas around Hayes Lane
‘You must evacuate before this time because Forecasted heavy rainfall will close evacuation
routes. Cyclonic wind gusts will cause roads to be blocked and power outages may occur.
You should evacuate to stay with family, friends, or alternate accommodation in areas unaffected by flooding,’ said the SES.

If you are unable to find accommodation an evacuation centre has been set up at Murwillumbah TAFE, TAFE NSW – Murwillumbah, Murwillumbah Street, Murwillumbah NSW.
