Police say a motorcycle rider has died after a crash in Uki on the weekend.
Emergency services were called in response to a crash between a ute and a motorcycle on Kyogle Road around 2.20pm Saturday afternoon.
Officers were told the rider was ejected from the motorcycle after the crash.
Paramedics treated the 35-year-old male rider on-scene before airlifting him to Brisbane’s Princess Alexandra Hospital in a critical condition.
A 52-year-old male driver of the ute returned a negative result to a roadside breath test but was taken to Murwillumbah District Hospital for more mandatory testing.
Police say they seized both vehicles for forensic examination as part of a criminal investigation.
They say they received advice of the rider’s death at the hospital shortly after 7.15pm that same day.
A report is to be prepared for the Coroner.
