Anzac Day will begin in Ballina Shire on April 25, 2025 with Dawn Services at Ballina and Alstonville.
Ballina events:
The Ballina RSL Sub-Branch will hold their Dawn Service at 5.30am at the Ballina RSL Memorial Park. This will be followed by the $5 breakfast at the Ballina RSL Club.
The march that will take place at 10.30am and commences at the Court House and proceeds down River Street to the Ballina RSL Memorial Park.
The main Anzac Day service will commence at Memorial Park adjacent to the Ballina RSL at 10.55am.
Everyone is invited to join the RSL lunch following the service as well as a game of two-up. Two-up is a game where bets are placed on how two pennies thrown into the air will fall.
Alstonville events:
The Alstonville Dawn Service will take place at 5.30am at the Cenotaph, Elizabeth Ann Brown Park. This will be followed by the Gun Fire Breakfast at 6.30am at the sub-branch hall for service personnel and their families.
At 9.40am the wreath will be laid at the Paddy Budgen Memorial (assemble a tthe RSL hall in Budgen Avenue). This will be followed by the mail service at 10am at the War Memorial in Elizabeth Ann Brown Park.
