Two people in their 50s were rescued overnight from a yacht that had run aground off the coast of Fingal Head.
The yacht had run aground on Cook Island, off the coast of Fingal Head, and the NSW Water Police had attempted to rescue the male and female on board but were unable due to the rocks.

Around 3am this morning (Tuesday, April 22), a Westpac Rescue Helicopter was tasked by NSW Ambulance to Cook Island where the yacht had run aground on the island and was taking on water.
The helicopter was able to winch insert the critical care paramedic onto the yacht and rescue both people aged in their 50s. They were airlifted to an oval at Kingscliff to meet an awaiting ambulance suffering from mild hypothermia.
