An off-duty NSW Police Officer from the NSW Northern Region has been issued with a Notice to Appear for a low range drink driving offence in Queensland on Thursday, 24 April.
Shortly after 12pm on Thursday, 24 April, Queensland Police stopped the driver of a 4WD after it allegedly collided with at least two other vehicles at Palm Beach, Queensland.
The driver in the other vehicle sustained minor injuries.
The driver of the 4WD – who is a serving NSW Police officer attached to the Northern Region – was subject to a roadside breath test which allegedly returned a positive result.
The 54-year-old man was arrested and taken to Coolangatta Police Station where he was subject to a breath analysis.
He was issued with a Notice to Appear in court for driving with a low range concentration of alcohol and will appear before Coolangatta Magistrates Court on Monday, 28 April, 2025.
Inquiries into the collision are continuing by the Queensland Police Service.
The officer’s employment status is currently under review.
