A woman has died following a single vehicle crash near Byron Bay today.
About 2.20am (Friday, 13 June, 2025), emergency services were called to the Pacific Highway, McLeods Shoot, following reports a car had left the road and crashed into a sign.
On arrival, officers attached to Tweed-Byron Police District located the body of a woman inside the vehicle.
While yet to be formally identified, the woman is believed to be aged in her 60s.
Police have established a crime scene and commenced an investigation into the crash.
A report will be prepared for the Coroner.
