On Monday police sent out a release saying that a man died and a commercial quantity of prohibited drugs were located at the home north of Lismore.
‘At about 9am on Friday, June 6, emergency services were called to a house at James Street, Dunoon, after a man was found unresponsive.
‘The 37-year-old man died at the scene.
‘Officers attached to Richmond Police District established a crime scene and an investigation into the man death has commenced. A report will be prepared for the Coroner.’
Police say a search warrant was executed at the house, after police located a large amount of hydroponic cannabis and psilocybin – also known as magic mushrooms.
During the search of the house, officers also located and seized equipment associated with the cultivation and manufacturing of prohibited drugs, ammunition, and cash.
‘Owing to the hazardous nature and scale of the grow operations, specialist police and equipment were required to process the crime scene,’ said the report.
