A 41-year-old Tweed Heads South man with an outstanding warrant for kidnapping was arrested on Friday, police said.
Tweed Byron officers said the man was also wanted for demanding property with menaces offences.
The alleged crimes happened in May, their report said, with the man taken into custody on 8 June and due to appear at Tweed Heads Local Court on 13 October.
His was one of several arrests detailed by police, who said they’d made 25 during the course of a week.
Teen charged for robbing elderly woman in Byron
A 27-year-old man from Preston in Victoria was reportedly awaiting a new court date after bail was refused in response to his alleged violence in the Tweed Shire.
Police said he was accused of assaulting a NSW paramedic and smashing windows at the Tweed Mall, as well as failing to comply with police directions.
A 19-year-old Byron Bay man was scheduled to appear at Byron Bay Local Court today, charged with robbery after allegedly assaulting an elderly woman and stealing money from her after she used an ATM.
Police said members of the public chased the accused man and managed to recover most of the money, with officers finding the rest upon his arrest.
Accused AVO breachers caught
Other arrests listed included another man and two women accused of separate apprehended violence order breaches, with the 28-year-old Evans Head man also accused of inflicting actual bodily harm upon his former partner.
In the Tweed Shire, a 26-year-old woman was arrested after a series of alleged shoplifting offences and allegedly assaulting a supermarket worker.
Queensland police, including a police dog squad, reportedly helped chase and capture a 29-year-old Ipswich man wanted in NSW for offences related to stolen vehicle registration plates and ramming police cars.
Police said he was to be extradited to NSW after facing justice in QLD for crimes he allegedly carried out there.
