Tweed Byron police say they charged seven people with drink driving offences across the region last week.
Another five people were reportedly charged with driving whilst disqualified, two for driving whilst suspended, one for driving whilst unlicensed and another for refusing to submit to a breath test.
Officers say they also charged two drivers for multiple offences after two separate arrests involving pursuits.
The traffic offences are just some in a list of arrests police have shared, with 23 people said to have been arrested and charged in the district last week.
Police file charge over choking offence
Police say they charged four people for breaching Apprehended Violence Orders and four for stalking and/or intimidation offences in a domestic violence context, with one person also charged for choking.
In Tweed Heads, officers arrested a 45-year-old man and woman for an aggravated break and enter and theft reported at a Tweed Heads club in July.
Police say the man was refused bail before being due to appear at the Tweed Heads Local Court on Monday, while the woman was due to appear at the same court on 20 October.
In Byron Bay, officers last Thursday arrested a 26-year-old man reportedly ‘of no fixed place of abode’.
He was due to face court this week charged with three warrants relating to an alleged aggravated break, enter and steal in Byron Bay.
Police said the incident involved multiple car thefts and acts of frauds, as well as driving a stolen motor vehicle, whilst disqualified from driving, as part of a police chase in Byangum.
