
Police have arrested a woman following the grievous bodily harm of a man at Southport in the early hours of this morning, Wednesday 10 September.
Around 12.30am, a 54-year-old man of no fixed address was assaulted at the corner of Scarborough Street and Young Street.
It will be alleged that a 29-year-old Southport woman approached the man and repeatedly kicked and assaulted him, before stealing his bag.
The man sustained significant injuries.
He was transported to the Gold Coast University Hospital in a critical condition where he remains in an induced coma.
Officers quickly tracked the woman to High Street where she was arrested a short time later.
Investigations continue.
