A previously unnamed bridge on Wilson Street, South Lismore was today named in honour of Lenny Perren, one of Lismore City Council’s dedicated bridge builders.
Lismore City Mayor Steve Krieg said Lenny had devoted over two decades to the improvement and development of these areas, before he passed away in 2014.
‘His expertise as a carpenter and concreter translated into the construction of numerous bridges, both small and large which have played an essential role in enhancing the connectivity and infrastructure that supports our local community,’ he said.
‘Lenny’s sense of community was profoundly generous, characterising his deep connection to the Rock Valley area where he lived and raised his family.
‘The community continues to fondly remember Lenny for his friendly disposition, the values he embodied and his unwavering commitment to ensuring safe passage for all.’
Lenny is survived by his wife, Julie, and their three children Nathan, Lochie and Megan.
