Police say a body has been located during a search for a man missing from the Tweed Valley region today (Friday).
The statement reads, ‘The 59-year-old man was last seen in the Tweed Valley area, about 9.30pm Monday August 18’.
‘When he could not be located or contacted, officers attached to Tweed/Byron Police District were notified on Monday September 8 and commenced inquiries into his whereabouts.
‘Today (Monday September 15), officers with the assistance of the Queensland Police Service and volunteer emergency services located the body of a man during a search of bushland in the Cudgen area.
‘While yet to be formally identified, the body is believed to be that of the missing man.
‘A report will be prepared for the information of the Coroner’, they added
