A surfer had suspected spinal injuries when he was rescued from the beach at Broken Head Sunday morning, emergency services said.
The incident was one of at least two separate local emergencies over the weekend requiring the Westpac Rescue Helicopter Service.
Paramedics were called to the surf scene around 8.00am Sunday.
They treated a man in his 40’s before taking him via the Westpac Rescue Helicopter to Gold Coast University Hospital.
Bruxner Hwy crash leaves man with multiple injuries
Another man in his forties was reportedly flown to the same hospital with multiple injuries Friday evening after a crash in Alstonville.
Emergency services were called to the crash scene on the Bruxner Highway at Alstonville around 6.00pm Friday.
Two vehicles had crashed, leaving a man in his 40’s with multiple injuries.
He was treated on scene before being taken via the Westpac Rescue Helicopter to Gold Coast University Hospital.
