White the NSW Rural Fire Service report there are dozens of ‘Alert’ level fires between Tweed Heads and Coff Harbour, Essential Energy has posted several power outage locations on their website.
The power is out in a large area from Casuarins to Tanglewood, Burringbar and Crabbes Creek across to Wooyung up to Pottsville and Cabarita Beach, also most of Stoker Siding with smaller outages at East Lismore and one at Clunes, which is probably owing to a fire on James Gibson Drive.
Much of Mullumbimby is also without power.
Although there are some planned burn-offs in the area, there are other fires at Ellangowan, Mullumbimby, Clunes, Durroughby, The Pocket Road and Tucki Tucki.
There is also a ‘Watch and Act’ alert for a fire west of Drake on Sugrabag Road.
Residents are reminded that today is a day of Total Fire Ban.
