NSW Police said they issued 11,389 Traffic Infringement Notices across the state over the Labor Day long weekend.
More than 4,000 were for speed related offences, around a quarter of them, 1,149, in the Northern Region.
More than 300 people across the state were fined for mobile phone usage, and 174 for seatbelt and/or helmet related offences.
Police say they carried out more than 214,906 breath tests, resulting in 300 drink driving offences, 86 of them in the Northern Region.
Meanwhile, 11,283 drug tests allegedly led to 724 drug driving offences detected across the state, including 249 in the Northern Region.
Police on Tuesday reported 285 major crashes across the state over the long weekend that included the deaths of three people, all three in northern NSW.
The updated number of people reportedly killed on NSW roads since 1 January 2025 was 277.
