Richmond Police District Police added, ‘Policing is more than making arrests!’
‘Every day, your local police are working hard to keep the community safe in ways you might not see. Here’s just a glimpse of what we do, other than attending jobs:
‘Patrolling shopping centres, CBDs, parks, beaches and roads to maintain a visible presence.
‘Preparing comprehensive briefs of evidence for court.
‘Answering calls, taking reports and enquiries at the station.
‘Managing and supervising persons in police custody.
‘Meeting with partner agencies to tackle community issues together.
And that’s only a small part of the job! Policing is about prevention, support, and partnership, not just enforcement.
‘Your safety is our priority – If you are a victim of a crime, please report it to your local police station, call the police assistance line on 131 444 or triple zero (000), in an emergency.
‘We’re out on patrol – But remember community safety is everyone’s responsibility. Secure your homes, Lock your vehicles, Keep valuables out of sight, and Ensure your CCTV is working and recording.
‘Simple steps make a big difference. Together, we can prevent crime and keep our community safe’.
