And this week’s prize for a (wannabe) politician’s double-speak goes to… the Greens’ Mandy Nolan. In her column last week in The Echo she railed against rape denial and the lack of justice against perpetrators, and additionally attended last week’s One Billion Rising women’s protest against gendered violence. However her previous column praised Abdel Fatah, who denied Hamas’s well-documented barbarous rapes on October 7th. Hamas’s rapes and sexual depravity is well documented in reports from the United Nations, Amnesty International, the British parliament, and Israel, and from Hamas rapists’ own body cameras, and testimony from released hostages. The chest-beating Greens’ Mandy Nolan’s two-faced contribution on rape and sexual violence ignores Hamas’s Israeli victims, and retraumatises those in the Byron community that know these victims. Ah, to dwell in the Greenwash bubble of righteousness!
