Border Ranges – Richmond Valley Landcare Network has put out a call for volunteers to help beautify the Casino to Bentley Rail Trail this Saturday, by assisting with weeding around the plantings near Naughtons Gap.
While trees along most of the rail trail are still few and far between, the area around the tunnel is looking increasingly beautiful, with plantings of over 2,000 trees, shrubs and native grasses becoming established. It’s now well on its way to becoming a real wildlife corridor.

If you’ve got some time to spare this Saturday morning, from 8.30am to noon, come and join the Naughtons Gap Landcare volunteers for a few hours of easy maintenance to ensure the new plants get their best chance to survive.
Everyone will be meeting at the Naughtons Gap Road bridge and walking north on the trail (the parking area is near the bridge, just past the Stones Road junction).
BYO gloves for hand weeding around the plants. No experience needed.
