The NSW Government says it is providing more space for the Lismore Showground, by repurposing land acquired through the Resilient Homes Program.
In a media release they say, ‘Five flood-affected properties next to the showground in North Lismore will be removed in the coming weeks with the sites becoming available for additional parking and event capacity’.
‘The NSW Reconstruction Authority is finalising lease arrangements with the Lismore Show Society to allow vacant Resilient Homes Program buyback land to be used immediately.
‘The move provides practical uses for flood-prone land that can no longer be used for housing, ensuring it continues to support community events and Lismore’s long-term recovery’.
