Don’t we love those great supporters of reduced government regulation and taxes who suddenly, when there is a crisis, call for increased government involvement and funding relief? Locking up their finances in family trusts and property in superannuation to pay lower taxes, whilst receiving rebates on diesel so they are not contributing fairly to the tax system, and then crying poor?
Now these Tories are the ones who set up an oil reserve in Texas, America (not Queensland), and then promptly sold it off in 2022. No it’s not their fault it’s blame, blame on the current government as they struggle for relevance and survival against the red-headed threat (no reds under the bed here). A bit like their opposition to climate change (you can see the likes of Canavan and Hastie holding their hands up and saying stop, it’s fake), and opposition to the electrification of our energy supply over fossil fuels.
