A passenger has died, and a driver and passenger remain outstanding, following a single vehicle crash in Tweed Heads.
Shortly after 10.30pm on the evening of Monday 30 March 2026, emergency services were called to the intersection of Heffron Street and Oxley Street, Tweed Heads South, following reports a sedan had rolled.
Officers attached to Tweed-Byron Police District attended and were told the vehicle had rolled after leaving the roadway and crashing into a boulder.
NSW Ambulance paramedics attended and treated the front seat passenger – a man believed to be aged in his 30s – at the scene; however, he could not be revived.
The driver and a second passenger left the scene prior to police arrival.
Police, with the assistance of the Crash Investigation Unit, have commenced an investigation under Strike Force Dartglen to locate the driver and investigate the circumstances surrounding the crash.
