A $250,000 grant from the NSW Government’s Regional Housing Strategic Planning Fund will go towards developing construction-ready water and sewage infrastructure designs for the new Summerland Estate at Fairy Hill, north of Casino.
According to Richmond Valley Council, they will contribute $17,677 for the project, which is expected to service 1,500 homes.
Council say, “This planning and design work will enable Council to be ready to go to tender as it continues to pursue government funding to activate this project, estimated at $30m.”
“By having the plans and designs ready, and subject to securing the enabling infrastructure funding, it makes the project financially feasible for private investors to develop the project to provide critically needed housing for our Northern Rivers region”.
