A heartfelt night of fundraising

We can’t solve the lack of social housing investment, or magically make emergency accommodation appear, but we can help alleviate suffering and bring warmth and comfort to people coping in truly awful situations.

This is the way

I went to Palace Cinemas in Byron Bay last week to see  Stars Wars: The Mandalorian and Grogu.

I am a Grogu fan and and have been waiting for this film for MONTHS – I went on the first day!

I was not disappointed…

A long time ago in a galaxy far, far away…

The evil empire has fallen, and Imperial warlords remain scattered throughout the galaxy.

Fan-(that’s me) favourite duo, Mandalorian bounty hunter Din Djarin (Pedro Pascal or is it? Who’d know? ) and his young apprentice (who is actually more like a son – a toddler son who gets to do ridiculously dangerous and fun stuff in a space ship) Grogu, make their triumphant debut to the silver screen in Jon Favreau’s  Star Wars: The Mandalorian and Grogu .

Now, I know ‘this is the way’, but, in reality, if there was no Grogu, there would be no movie, in fact I reckon, ‘they’ wouldn’t have even thought of a movie if it hadn’t been for the popularity of the tiny green, bat-eared, three-fingered ‘baby Yoda’ – who may or may not have feet!

Grogu is the best thing in this Star Wars universe spin-off, spin off…

Grogu is the best thing in Star Wars – period…

In the interest of telling a story…

A fledgling New Republic enlists the help of the duo to protect everything the Rebellion fought for during the Empire’s reign, in a time where blah, blah blah: GROGU!

Produced by Star Wars veterans Dave Filoni, Jon Favreau, Kathleen Kennedy and Ian Bryce, and starring an array of fan-favourite characters, including screen legend Sigourney Weaver (Alien, Avatar), with music composed by Academy Award-winner Ludwig Göransson (Black Panther, Sinners).

‘They’ have thrown a lot of money at this one – the CGI is amazing. It’s hard to tell the hand puppets from the animatronics from the animated characters.

The Star Wars rules of no blood and no sex apply, so it’s pretty child safe (though a bit violent) and there’s PLENTY of Grogu!

This is the way…

You can see Grogu and his offsider at Palace Cinemas Ballina and Byron Bay this week…
