Reading about Norco’s cost increase is understandable, though not completely forgivable.
We are at a near crisis point with major supply chains showing their vulnerabilities.
There has been for many decades now a status quo of complacency, and now, with today’s further news of the resin shortages for bottling, we need to dig deeper, and not just in the pockets of consumers.
Australia has always drawn on its innovation. I personally would be happy to follow suit of the ‘bring your own’ shopping bag revolution and have my own glass bottle and purpose-built dispenser in store. We know glass can be recycled. We have glass manufacturers. It could be a machine that dispenses directly.
Happy to pass on this extra increase toward working out a solution to not only Norco and other dairy farmers plight, but also to stop the rising insidious tide of plastic on the earth.
Whilst I’m sure the logistics are far more complicated than outlined, it would be good to at least have the conversations about how we can change things for the better.
