The opening lines of Rupert McCall’s ode to Stone & Wood pretty much some things up…
An ancient tribal custom undeniably immersed
In the celebrated notion of this thing we call ‘a thirst’
When the sun sets on a village and you simplify the goal
It strips back to a spirit… in your heart and in your soul.
I hate to use the word ‘iconic’, but Stone & Wood really are front and centre in Byron’s hall of fame and the annual Festival of the Stone does nothing but cement that place even firmer.
Not only will there be delicious food and delicious brews, there is also a delicious line up of entertainment.
Now in its 12th year, Festival of the Stone has become a fixture on the music festival calendar. Each year, fans from near and far come together to celebrate music, enjoy amazing beer and share good times, all while supporting Byron’s Fletcher Street Cottage.
This year’s lineup is a beauty with Pacific Avenue, Ruby Fields, Dear Seattle, Eliza and the Delusionals, and Liquid Zoo, for your aural pleasure.
This event is going to be a banger! Be there, June 20 from 3pm. More info and tickets at stoneandwood.com.au.
