It has been quite a season at The Paddock, and we are bursting to share two pieces of news that have had our whole team buzzing.

Basking in the glow of The Echo Award
We are still riding high after receiving the Seeding Change Award at The Byron Shire Echo’s 40th Birthday Awards Night, and we couldn’t be prouder to have it on display in our café for everyone to see.
Being associated with The Echo means a great deal to us. The Echo has always championed an independent, out-of-the-box way of seeing and doing things – and that spirit feels very close to our own. Thank you, Echo. We are honoured.

The long-awaited loo – the build has begun!
We are absolutely flushed with excitement to announce that The Paddock is finally getting a toilet – and the build has officially begun. The plumbing is underway, and we are about to lay the cement slab so things are off to a great start.
Getting here has been quite the journey – fundraisers, bureaucratic red tape, rain delays, and more hoops than we care to remember. A huge thank you to our incredible community for your support, and to our helpers who would be well within their rights to feel this project has been like pushing you-know-what uphill – in some cases, quite literally.
We don’t have a completion date just yet, but when the big day comes, we’ll be throwing a Poo Party to celebrate. Watch this space – this is one announcement we refuse to hold in any longer.

For four decades The Echo has printed the stories some people loved, some people hated, and some pretended not to read. If you want us to keep telling the truth, the real truth, not the sugar-coated version. We’ll need your support to keep the presses rolling.
