The Rotary Club of Mullumbimby presented a cheque for $10,000 to the Brunswick Surf Life Saving Club (BSLSC) in support of its ongoing operations.
‘Following the completion of its new clubhouse, the BSLSC faced the challenge of ensuring sufficient funding to continue its vital services throughout the coming season.
‘Rotary was proud to assist an organisation that plays such an important role in the safety and wellbeing of our community,’ Mullumbimby Rotary secretary, Helen Carpenter, told The Echo.
Year round work
Throughout the summer months the BSLSC’s dedicated volunteers give countless hours patrolling beaches, responding to emergencies, and helping keep residents and visitors safe. During the off-season, members remain hard at work undertaking training, maintaining qualifications, and preparing for the next patrol season.
‘We thank all members of the SLSC for their commitment, professionalism, and service. Their dedication helps make our beaches safer for everyone,’ said Helen.
