Ingrained Foundation, together with co-founder of the Climate Action Arts Grant Program, Vicki Brooke, and delivery partner Arts Northern Rivers (ANR), are say they are delighted to announce the five recipients of the inaugural program.
Supporting artistic projects that catalyse climate action, Ingrained Foundation Executive Director Jasmin Daly said they received applications from all 7 LGAs of the Northern Rivers.
Arts Northern Rivers Executive Director, Rosie Dennis, said the strength of applications reflected the Northern Rivers’ vibrant creative sector and strong community commitment to environmental leadership.
“This is a terrific initiative! ANR is delighted to be working with the team at Ingrained and Vicki Brooke to deliver this ambitious program for artists in the region. ANR is looking forward to supporting the artists over the coming months and championing these new works seeded, supported and presented in our region.” Rosie Dennis, Executive Director, Arts Northern Rivers.
The successful recipients are:
• Simon Jankelson The Human Sound Project
• Nell Schofield Norma Gungbill
• Liv Enquist Love Letters
• Esk Studio Carbon, Creativity and Collapse
• Heather Matthew Dear World
“I am excited by the potential for the chosen arts projects to stimulate action on climate change in the Northern Rivers and beyond,” said Vicki Brooke.
“Engaging with the community in a wide spread of activities, the projects aim to entertain, inform, and inspire people to action,” she said.
Organisers say the successful grant recipients were chosen by an experienced panel from Indigenous, arts and environment backgrounds. ‘While the successful artists have until December 2026 to complete their projects, expect to see some activities popping up well before then’.
