For decades, naturism has struggled with a strange communication barrier.
Most naturist educational material contains nudity, which means it is often automatically classified as NSFW in workplaces, schools, institutions, libraries, and government environments.
As a result, many people responsible for discussing public policy, wellbeing, public space management, or social behaviour have often been unable to safely access educational material about naturism itself.
That problem helped inspire the creation of the NaturismRE Nudism & Naturism Encyclopedias, a free bilingual educational project developed without photographic nudity.
The goal was not to hide naturism, but to remove the barriers preventing serious discussion around it.
Whether people support naturism or not, understanding should come before assumption.
Perhaps one reason naturism has remained misunderstood for so long is that structured educational material has rarely been accessible in professional environments.
