After just over a month, Lismore City Council say the boil water alert for the village of Nimbin has been lifted, effective immediately.
Yet these living in the outskirts of the village, a boil water alert is still in place.
Council say, ‘Before drinking water, residents should flush out affected water from their pipes with running water for 2 to 3 minutes, including the tap most distant from their water meter, which is usually in backyards’.
‘This only applies to customers located within the village of Nimbin. Customers who are connected to our Nimbin Rural water supply on the outskirts of the village remain under an ongoing boil water alert; please refer to our website for more information.
‘The problem has been rectified, and NSW Health has given their support to Council lifting the boil water alert’, they said.
‘The village of Nimbin was placed on a boil water alert on Friday, 8 May due to problems with the water treatment system’.
Only applies to Nimbin vaillage customers
Council say ‘This only applies to customers located within the village of Nimbin’.
