On Sunday, 16 August, the Lennox Head Lions will be staging their annual Golf Tournament at the beautiful Byron Bay course. This tournament commemorates one of the founding members of the Lennox Head Lions Club, who originally initiated this major fundraiser.
The event begins at 12 noon and is a four-person Ambrose-style game with free lunch and masses of novelty prizes throughout various holes on the course.
Fundraiser
The event aims to raise $20,000 to be distributed between the local Westpac Helicopter Service and Byron Bay’s Fletcher Street Cottage. Both these organisations play pivotal roles in the welfare of our communities, with the Westpac Helicopter in numerous local rescue missions, while Fletcher Street Cottage coordinates an expanding role of protecting vulnerable women during increasingly difficult economic times. They also provide meals and emergency accommodation for the disadvantaged. These are truly two deserving recipients which seriously need support.
‘At this stage we are so fortunate to have our major Diamond Sponsor, Clarence Property, already established and our other long-term supporter, Zep Finance has joined us again as a Platinum Sponsor,’ said organiser Lyn Menchin.
‘We still have one Platinum, one Gold, and three Silver sponsorships available. Please contact Wayne Blackie on 0403 196 621 or Derek Audus on 0418 971 902.
‘So, come on all you avid golfers. Join us for a fabulously fun day while supporting two admirable local charitable organisations. It’s $240 for a team and you can reserve your spot by contacting the Byron Bay Pro Shop.’
