Thirty years and a stellar lineup is coming your way with this year’s Byron Writers Festival,14–16 August.
Coming into the heart of Byron for the first time it will unfold across seven iconic venues, including two marquees on the Byron Bay foreshore and in town.
‘Themed “Sanctuary”, we present this festival at a moment of great global change, and as algorithmic tools offer a cheap illusion of creativity and understanding. From the festival stage to the bookstore and cafes, take sanctuary here alongside those nourished by the doing of writing, reading and thinking,’ say festival organisers.
From Trent Dalton, to the Baillie Gifford Prize-winner Richard Flanagan, and acclaimed journalist and human rights activist Antonionette Laffouf, this is Australia’s favourite regional writers’ festival.
