Byron Bay Netball Club has wrapped up an outstanding season with premiership glory, strong junior results and a growing group of young players showing the sport has a bright future in the Byron Shire.
The season ended in spectacular fashion for the club, with an all-Byron Bay grand final in Division 1 Intermediates seeing the Bullets take the title against fellow Byron side, the Blitz.
It was a fitting finish to a season that has seen both teams develop strongly and showcase the depth of talent within Byron Bay Netball.
There was further reason to celebrate in Division 3 Intermediates, with the Bulls claiming their own grand final victory, giving the club two premierships to finish an already memorable season.
The club’s juniors also enjoyed a terrific year, with Division 1 team the Besties finishing third for the season after a particularly strong second ladder position leading into the finals. The team narrowly missed out on a grand final position by just a few points, but their determination and improvement throughout the season provided another highlight for the club.
And it’s not just the older grades that are thriving.
Byron Bay Netball now has 20 NetSetGO players across the Bananas and Pyjamas, with the youngest players getting their first taste of netball in an environment focused on learning, confidence, friendship and fun.
