Three young surf lifesavers from Byron Bay Surf Lifesaving Club (BBSLSC) have produced an outstanding result on Sydney Harbour, claiming all three podium positions in the Under 16 category of the prestigious Bridge to Beach paddling race.
Sixteen-year-olds Kayden Muller and Blake Hogan, together with 14-year-old Jack Keough, travelled to Sydney over the 12-13 September weekend to compete in the gruelling 11-kilometre Bridge to Beach race, which takes competitors from McMahons Point to Sydney Cove.
Kayden Muller took out first place, Jack Keough took out second place, and Blake Hogan third.

Byron Bay Surf Lifesaving Club President Troy Eady praised the boys for their dedication and the commitment they have shown to their training.
‘This is a fantastic result for Kayden, Jack and Blake, and a great reflection of the effort they have put in over the winter months. To finish first, second and third in an 11-kilometre race on Sydney Harbour is an outstanding achievement,’ said Troy.
‘What is particularly exciting for BBSLSC is seeing the results of the training and opportunities available to our youth members. Jack’s second-place finish at just 14 years of age against competitors who are older than him is a remarkable result. All three boys should be congratulated on their hard work, sportsmanship and commitment.’
