It is with a heavy heart that I comment on the student protest against Pauline Hanson reported in The Echo.
When I was at school in the 1950s and 1960s I was not dragged out of school to protest against any political issues. Who put this to the students it was a good idea?
I was at school to learn other more important things like reading, writing, maths, geography, and science.
Our young years should be full of joy and laughter.

For four decades The Echo has printed the stories some people loved, some people hated, and some pretended not to read. If you want us to keep telling the truth, the real truth, not the sugar-coated version. We’ll need your support to keep the presses rolling.
