Saturday saw the launch of ‘Waves Without Limits’ wheelchairs on Torakina Beach that has seen a chair, wheelie walker and hoist available for community use to access the beach and water.
Rotary Club Mullumbimby has been working hard over the last three years to get the project funded with support from local businesses, the community, and benefactors.
The equipment is being stored in a lockbox in the carpark and can be accessed for one to two hours by booking through www.spacetoco.com/space/brunswick-heads-nsw-hippocampe-2-wheelchair.
Once you have finished with the equipment, you must hose it down and return it to the lockbox so it is ready for the next user.
