Coffee With a CopCoffee with a Cop is a community-focused initiative designed to bring police and residents together in an informal setting, encouraging open dialogue and strengthening relationships within the community.

The event provides an opportunity for locals to meet officers, ask questions, discuss community concerns, and learn more about local policing initiatives, all over a cup of coffee.

Unlike traditional meetings, Coffee with a Cop creates a relaxed environment where meaningful conversations can take place naturally, helping to build trust and understanding between police and the community they serve.

Community connection

Goonellabah Shopping Centre Senior Centre Manager Melinda Boyle said the centre is proud to host this event.

‘Goonellabah is a community hub and we’re pleased to partner with local police and Coffee Thyme Coffee Shop to provide a welcoming space where people can connect, ask questions and have a positive conversation with local officers. Initiatives like Coffee with a Cop allow people to feel engaged and connected, which helps to build a strong community.”

Members of the public are welcome to attend free of charge, with no formal agenda or registration required.

Coffee with a Cop is happening on Tuesday 3 November 2026, from 10am to 11:30am, at Coffee Thyme Coffee Shop, Goonellabah Shopping Centre.
