Four charged after rifles, drugs and police uniforms allegedly seized at Banora Point

Three men and a woman have been charged after police allegedly seized four kilograms of drugs, six rifles, ammunition and Queensland Police uniform items during an operation at Banora Point.

Just before 11am yesterday (Sunday 4 October 2026), officers attached to Coffs/Clarence Police District were called to Marine Parade, Yamba, following reports of Surf Life Saving NSW locating a man’s body in the water.

The man was taken to shore and treated by NSW Ambulance paramedics; however, he died at the scene.

He is yet to be formally identified but is believed to be aged in his 60s.

Police have commenced an investigation into the incident, and a report will be prepared for the information of the Coroner.
