The study into High Speed Rail (HSR) by the clean-energy consultancy Beyond Zero Emissions argues the east coast network would cost $84 billion to build and could pay for itself in 40 years. This study includes a station at Lismore, which would serve locals as well as the five million national and international visitors to the region.
