The NSW National Parks and Wildlife Service (NPWS) has announced today that the construction on the Gidjuum Gulganyi Walk is now underway.

The National Parks and Wildlife Service that the Rummery Park campground near the Minyon Falls fireground is open but is only accessible via Nightcap Range Road. The falls lookout, picnic ground and walking tracks remain closed.

Just a week after it reopened following a deliberately lit fire, the Minyon Loop walking track in Nightcap National Park has been closed again due to an increased forecast bushfire risk.

The National Parks and Wildlife Service believes the fire that burnt out 150 hectares of pristine Nightcap National Park and closed the popular Minyon Falls was set by firebugs. Roads to and through the Minyon Falls area will be open from tomorrow however the Minyon Loop walking track will remain closed.

A bushfire that may have been deliberately lit in Nightcap National Park on Sunday has yet to be extinguished. It has closed access to the popular tourist attraction of Minyon Falls.
