New portable connectivity kits, internet-enabled forward command vehicles and satellite vessel tracking are being rolled out by the NSW State Emergency Service (SES) to enhance community response during disasters.

The NSW State Emergency Service says residents in northern and northwestern NSW should watch weather forecasts and prepare for the impacts of widespread rainfall and flooding, as the organisation puts assets and personnel on standby to respond.

Clean-up efforts are in full swing following the devastating floods across the Mid North Coast as the NSW State Emergency Service (SES), emergency services personnel from across the country, the Australian Defence Force and community volunteers provide assistance.

The NSW State Emergency Service (NSW SES) has received more than 13,500 calls and responded to more than 7,300 incidents following the impacts of Ex Tropical Cyclone Alfred across northern NSW.

There was a hive of activity at the NSW SES Mullumbimby unit on Saturday for all the right reasons as women from the Byron Shire and surrounds attended the Emergency Preparedness in Community (EPiC) women’s workshop.
