The NSW State Emergency Service (NSW SES) urges communities to prepare for possible thunderstorms developing tonight and into the morning over the Northern Rivers bringing possible localized heavy rainfall and flash flooding.

Update: Rain is set to return to the region today after thunderstorms pounded much of the north coast last night. But a thunderstorm warning issued earlier today has been withdrawn.
