
A 46-year-old Drake man will appear in court today after being charge with a series of domestic violence assaults that included eye gouging, choking, and assaults with a machete.
The man was arrested on Monday after police were called to a home in Drake after a person had been assaulted.
When police arrived the 46-year-old man had left the premises.
It was then revealed to police that the 46-year-old has been involved in ongoing assaults that have included choking, limb-twisting, assaults with a machete and eye gouging.
The 46-year-old was later located at Casino Hospital.
He was arrested and charged with two counts of Assault Occasioning Actual Bodily Harm and one count of Breach Apprehended Violence Order.
He was bail refused and will appear in Lismore Local Court today.
