Four teams are left competing for the Major Pairs at the Mullum Ex-Services Bowling Club after the quarters were played in blustery conditions on the weekend.

Dave Moor and Jeff Morgan cruised to a 32–15 win over Mike Nicholls and Michael Burke, while George and Adam McKenzie also recorded a comfortable win to the tune of 34–15 over Troy Creighton and Bernie O’Hearn.

Ross Graham and Sean Doherty won a see-sawing game 24–15 over Abraham and Merv Esau, while Scott and Mark Hogan won a tight contest 20–17 over Leigh Rickert and Richie Northcott.

In last Thursday’s triples Errol Boyter, Harry McIlwain and Geoff Winter 23 defeated Errol Boyter (swinging lead), Merv Esau and Terry Johnston 17.

Michael Lardi, Allan Bartlett and Jean-Claude Canabou 24 beat Mike Nicholls, Gary Porter and Larry Henry 16.

In the pairs competition, Tony Baggio and Bernie O’Hearn had two wins, +8; followed by Ian Carlin and Michael Burke, +2; Geoff Flick and Mal Flesser one win and one loss, -3; Phill Brassington and Trevor Saunders two losses, -7.

In Saturday’s social pairs Ian Weir and Bob Rose had two wins, +4; followed by Michael Lardi and Geoff Flick, one loss and one win, +8; Ian Carlin and Sharon Thomas, one win and one loss, -8; Rose Wainwright and Trent Foreman two losses, -4.

Errol Boyter, Ben Leeson and Larry Henry 17 also defeated Phil Brassington, Jean-Claude Canabou and Mark Holton 15.

Ocean Shores

Last Friday the Ocean Shores ladies enjoyed a fun morning and had two close games.

The team of J Busch, N Montgomery and M Hosie defeated, P O’Connor and J Howell.

J M Quirke and L McGowran also beat  G Johnston and B Sprengel.

Winner on number of ends was the team of J Busch, N Montgomery and M Hosie. 

Drills and coaching on Friday February 24 and Friday March 3 at 3pm. All ladies welcome.
