More than 400 paddlers are excited about dragon boat racing this weekend, August 26–27, in Ballina as the Rainbow Region Dragon Boat Club hosts its annual regatta.
The regatta has become a success story on the northern NSW and southeast QLD dragon boat racing calendar since its 2013 inauguration, according to the club.
The weekend competition will consist of races for both sports teams and community teams.
Competition is fierce, not only for the trophy for the best paddling team but also for the best dressed team.
Members of the public are welcome to attend and view the fun.
The racing starts at 1pm on Saturday and 8.00am on Sunday at Shaws Bay in Ballina
The event could not proceed without the tireless effort of the organising committee and sponsors.
