Police allege a man who was camped illegally in Byron Bay attempted to reverse his car over a Byron Shire ranger on Friday (June 1).
About 6.30am rangers spoke with the 27-year-old male they say had an unrestrained dog and was camping illegally near the intersection of Bangalow Road and Broken Head Road, Byron Bay.
The male allegedly became aggressive and intimidating toward the Rangers.
Police say that during the exchange he reversed his vehicle ‘harshly’ towards one of the rangers ‘who feared he may have been run over’.
Police were called and the male was subsequently arrested and taken to Byron Bay Police Station where he was issued a Court Attendance Notice for driving recklessly/furiously and in a dangerous speed and manner.
The will appear at Byron Bay Local Court.
