Browse the boutiques, galleries and local stores of Murwillumbah, stop for lunch in Uki, wander the streets of Tyalgum, or make your way to the coast for the relaxed atmosphere of Kingscliff, Cabarita Beach and Pottsville. Along the way, cafes, markets, local producers and independent small businesses provide plenty of reasons to stop and stay awhile. If it is more mainstream shopping you need, the shopping centres in Tweed Heads have you covered on that score too.
For outdoor adventurers, the Northern Rivers Rail Trail offers another way to experience the Tweed. Walk, cycle or hire an e-bike and follow the former railway corridor through lush countryside, past historic villages, and beneath the dramatic backdrop of the Tweed Valley.
With mountains, rainforest, rivers and beaches all within easy reach, the Tweed is the perfect place to pack the car, bring the bikes and make a day of it.

Northern Rivers Symphony Orchestra
This Father’s Day, why not treat Dad to an afternoon of sensational music? The Northern Rivers Symphony Orchestra presents Spring Sensations at Tweed Heads Civic Centre on Sunday, 6 September, featuring clarinettist Nathaniel Smorti with pianist Ayesha Gough and leading chamber musicians.
The intimate program brings together Mozart’s much-loved Clarinet Quintet, Bruch’s lyrical 8 Pieces and Fauré’s Piano Quartet.
Smorti invites audiences to listen for the humour, drama and stories within the music – and perhaps discover, or rediscover, a love of classical music.
